Tree Damage

We had some tree damage in the back yard about midnight Friday morning. I heard a loud crack that sounded like it came from out back. I didn't see anything unusual except the light was on in the shed. I sent the dog out ahead of me but she didn't show any signs of an intruder so I went out, peaked in just to be sure and then turned out the light. I thought I saw something up in the trees but couldn't tell what it was so I went looking for a flashlight.

I stood on the porch and with the dim flashlight, I did see what looked like a crack.

As I was looking at it, it came crashing down right in front of me! I looked for Chloe and luckily she was right beside me.

I went running to get Martin up. He came out but went back to bed saying there's nothing he could do tonight. I got Amelia up just to see it, just from the porch. There was no way to tell if there were any more branches going to fall.

Friday morning, I took these pictures. The approx 20' limbs landed about three feet away from the shed. You can see the shadow of the shed in the lower left corner and part of the tractor in the lower right corner.

Just mowed the front lawn today.  This is the hedge and circle garden.  Not sure whether these will have flowers later but the greenery looks good.

You can see the hedge is developing nicely.

The peonies are at peak or just past.  I didn't get them staked.

Both blueberry bushes are beyond loaded.  It should be quite a crop. All three blackberries have a few flowers so there may be berries there too.

Here you can see how the landscape crew really cleared out all the brush along the fence.  The brown patch is all riddled with roots.  Not sure if they will be digging those up.

From this view, you can see they trimmed the trees that hung over the fense too.
